Description
In a high-resolution system, the power cord is not “accessory hardware”—it is part of the chain that supplies the exact energy your components convert into music. Furutech’s Project V1 is engineered from the ground up as a no-compromise AC transmission platform, targeting the three areas that most often limit real-world performance: noise, mechanical resonance, and contact integrity.
Hybrid conductor architecture: α-OCC + α-DUCC in a 3-tier concentric design
Project V1’s conductor system is built as a multi-material hybrid with a special 3-tier concentric design, described by Furutech as a refined balance of two of the best conductors they use for high-end power transmission: silver-coated α-OCC and α-DUCC (Dia Ultra Crystallized Copper). Both conductor technologies are part of Furutech’s “Pure Transmission” approach, and the combined design is treated with Furutech’s Alpha Process (deep cryogenic and demagnetizing treatment) to further optimize performance.
Why it matters: conductor purity and crystal structure influence impedance, current delivery, and the system’s ability to maintain stability under dynamic demand—especially with amplifiers and power supplies that draw current in fast pulses.
NCF: anti-static and anti-resonance damping at the critical points
Project V1 incorporates Furutech’s NCF (Nano Crystal² Formula)—a material system Furutech describes as having two key properties: it generates negative ions that eliminate static and converts thermal energy into far infrared. Furutech further describes NCF combined with nano-sized ceramic particles and carbon powder as an ultimate electrical and mechanical damping material, used to suppress resonance and reduce noise.
For high-end audio, this aims to translate into a cleaner background and more stable presentation, because static charge and micro-vibration can subtly degrade low-level detail and image focus.
Exclusive connector system with NCF + rhodium-coated α pure copper conductors
Project V1 uses special connectors exclusive to this power cord: an IEC connector, the male AC connector (NEMA or Schuko version), plus cable damping rings. These incorporate Furutech’s NCF material combined with high-grade nylon insulation, and the connector housings are formed with 4-layer hybrid NCF carbon fiber finished with a hardened clear damping coating.
Connector conductors are specified as non-magnetic rhodium-coated α (Alpha) pure copper, secured in bodies insulated with NCF. Furutech positions this as enabling “pure uncolored power,” supporting improvements in depth and focus, harmonics, tonal balance, and low-frequency definition via a lowered noise floor.
Mechanical control: double shielding, double insulation, and a resonance-managed sleeve
Beyond conductor and connectors, Project V1 is engineered as a resonance-controlled assembly: double insulated, double shielded, and built with a 3-sheath design. It uses dual insulation (inner FEP fluoropolymer and outer high-grade polyethylene) and includes RoHS compliant nano-ceramic and carbon powder damping material.
Furutech also specifies a specially designed sleeve intended to limit resonance and stress while remaining flexible, using soft damping polypropylene and cross-weaved hard fiber.
Where to use it in a system
Project V1 is designed as a reference power cord for any component where power stability and noise performance are critical—especially:
-
Power amplifiers / integrated amplifiers (transient current and bass control)
-
DACs / streamers / music servers (noise floor and micro-detail)
-
Power distributors (system baseline improvement)
Project V1 is offered in US (NEMA male) and EU (Schuko male) versions, making it suitable for many high-end installations.
“Project V1 is an undeniable accomplishment.”
“Project V1 might be the last stop on your cable and power cord journey — the final destination.”

I have been in this business for quite a while, and in the 80’s when I started to talk about how the sound from a setup could be changed by using different cables and materials, many people just looked strange at me. Today some things have changed, and many listeners share my point of view. In the 80’s I tried a lot of different “home-made” cables, something that changed around the millennium when I got in contact with Furutech. Over the years I have tried a lot of different cables from Furutech, both bulk and finished. I have never been disappointed by Furutech, the different cables do deliver in their segment and price range
Project V1 – First impression.
For years, the start of my power distribution has been a Nanoflux NCF from the wall into a Pure Power NCF.
When I had the chance to try the Furutech Project V1, this was the location I chose. My jaw dropped. Normally changes are small and subtle, but this was like a new setup. The difference was not just noticeable, it was huge. The new cable gave the sound more openness and air in both ends of the spectrum. The base became deeper, firmer and more melodic, while in the other end the roof was lifted. Once again it was like cleaning the windshield of your car.
Once I got my jaw back in position and gave the listening some more time, I realized the difference in the dynamic. The dynamics of the Nanoflux is great, but the VI is way better.
Project V1 – Today.
For quite some time, my own Project V1 has been installed in the power chain. As of all cables, the burn-in affect the sound, and for the V1 the time is long but so is the gain. The soundstage became deeper and even more open, all the small details stand out in a new, more obvious way.
in my setup the VI made a huge difference.
