Description
In serious hi-fi, the wall outlet is not just hardware—it’s the starting point of every power cable and every component. If the first connection is noisy, mechanically unstable, or high-impedance, everything downstream inherits that limitation. Furutech designed the FT-SWS NCF Plus (R) as the next evolution of their flagship Schuko outlet, focusing on three core goals: cleaner AC delivery, lower mechanical/electrical noise, and more stable, lower-impedance contact right at the wall.

NCF: anti-static control + advanced damping
At the heart of the FT-SWS NCF Plus (R) is NCF (Nano Crystal² Formula)—a material Furutech incorporates into selected products to address problems that matter in real systems: static charge and resonance. Furutech states that NCF has two “active” properties: it generates negative ions to eliminate static, and it converts thermal energy into far infrared. Furutech further combines NCF with nano-sized ceramic particles and carbon powder, aimed at additional piezo effect damping, to reduce both mechanical and electrical noise at the connection point.
Why that matters: a wall outlet is physically connected to the building’s wiring and the wall structure—an environment full of vibration, micro-movement, and potential noise coupling. With NCF damping built into the insulation structure, the FT-SWS NCF Plus (R) targets a quieter, more stable interface that supports higher perceived resolution and a more “black” background.
Rhodium-plated α (Alpha) pure copper conductors
Electrical contact quality is the foundation of power delivery. Furutech specifies a non-magnetic rhodium-plated α (Alpha) pure copper main conductor with a thickness of t = 5mm. The “Alpha” treatment is part of Furutech’s approach to improving the conductor’s performance for audio use, while rhodium plating is chosen for durability and stable contact behavior over time.
The Plus version further includes an innovative non-magnetic stainless-steel conductor spring designed to maintain constant, even contact pressure—helping deliver a firm, stable grip on Schuko conductors and supporting a consistently low-impedance connection.
“Plus” structural engineering: rigidity, damping, and micro-vibration suppression
Furutech positions the FT-SWS NCF Plus (R) as a significant refinement over the earlier FT-SWS NCF (R), with multiple mechanical upgrades aimed at better damping and stability. These include:
-
An upgraded carbon-fiber finished Zn-Mg alloy front plate with advanced multilayer damping architecture
-
A hybrid carbon-fiber TPU coating intended to expand suppression of micro-vibrations
-
Refined internal bracket and brace structures for greater rigidity and stability
These changes target a simple objective: a connection that remains mechanically quiet and electrically consistent, even as current draw changes and even as the system is exposed to real-world vibration.
Patented pressure-plate system: more contact area, lower impedance
Furutech emphasizes a specially designed patented pressure-plate system that increases the contact area of the Alpha conductors. More stable, higher-surface contact can help reduce micro-arcing and contact variability—two factors that can subtly degrade performance in high-resolution audio systems.
Who is it for?
The FT-SWS NCF Plus (R) is ideal for listeners who:
-
Want to upgrade the first AC connection in their system (wall → power cable)
-
Use high-resolution components and want improved stability and noise suppression
-
Run high-performance power cables and want a wall outlet that matches their quality
-
Are building a dedicated audio room or upgrading mains outlets for serious hi-fi
